Apple has finally announced the new iPad 2 tablet. The rumors have been circulating for some time, as more and more blogs have made various speculations in terms of features. As for the official press release, Apple let us know that their new iPad 2 tablet will be lighter, faster and thinner than the old iPad.
It will be only 8.8mm in thickness and will weigh only 1.3 pounds in comparison to the 1.5 pounds of the original iPad. As for the features, you will be able to find a dual-core Apple A5 processor which, reportedly, will be twice as fast than the old iPad processor and will make its contribution in the 900% speed increase for the graphics. I must say that percentage is a bit over the top, we’ll just have to wait and see.
The new iPad 2 will be launched in the United States on March 11th and will also be available in 26 other countries by 25th of March 2011. There will be three different iPad 2 models with different storage capacities – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB priced at $499, $599 and $699 for the Wi-Fi models, respectively. The 3G enabled iPad 2 models on the other hand, will become available for $629, $729 and $829, respectively.
